How to Arrange a Home Visit

Home visits are available, by arrangement, only for patients who are housebound, terminally ill or too ill to come to the surgery.

Please telephone prior to 10am on the day as this enables us to organise our visits. All visits are at the doctors' discretion.

Advanced Nurse Practitioner

Our Advanced Nurse Practitioner (ANP) helps with our home visits. When you request a home visit, the GP will screen the request before deciding if the ANP will go out and visit. The ANP will telephone you before she leaves to visit. When she returns to the surgery she will update the doctor on the consultation that you have had and what her recommendations were.

Your care and management will always be discussed with the GP.

Please Remember

The doctor can see 5 patients at the surgery in the time it takes to visit 1 patient at home. At home the doctor will only have limited equipment and it is often difficult to perform a full assessment of your condition. It is therefore essential that if it is at all possible that you attend the surgery to see the doctor.
